Welcome to the Biotope Blog!

News and views from the field: This blog features 100+ blogposts produced since 2011 (with enough content to fill 2-3 books if printed). For a long time this blog was not active. But with 300+ daily views and 1,5million+ total views, we decided to keep it all online as a public archive. Many of the blogposts serve a lot of visitors to this website with all kinds of architecture and nature content. We aim to start making more content for this blog, so stay tuned for all things nature and ´friluftsliv´, with a twist of architecture...
Biotope is an architectural practice combining the field of architecture with a deep passion for nature. Our architectural solutions, ideas and concepts are built on both understanding and care for nature. We design nature shelters, bird hides, photography hides, outdoor classrooms, cabins, landscape hotels and more. We love engaging with nature conservation and ecotourism projects. The name Biotope comes from the greek words ´bios´ and ´topos´. It reflects our viewpoint as architects: “Bios is life, topos is place”. Our design solutions are open and inviting, aiming at creating a deeper connection with nature.

Feel free to get in touch with us if you have a project in mind! Best wishes from founder Tormod and the Biotope team.
